BVJers will also get to see the high-energy performance of Alberta’s own High Valley, a duo who didn’t really know how country music was supposed to sound when they began crafting their music. This outstanding pair steadily honed an old school modern style once their remote town of La Crete, Alberta got an FM radio station, and the result is one of the best acts in country music today.
Rounding out our complete 2019 lineup is another Alberta native, Mackenzie Porter. Growing up on the family farm near Medicine Hat, Porter’s dad and grandfather always had country music playing on the radio, providing an authentic soundtrack to her bonafide rural roots. It wasn’t long before she found her voice as a singer and songwriter, and CCMA and Juno nominations soon followed. An ex-pat living in Nashville, Porter’s presence on the BVJ mainstage will be a welcome homecoming for this dyed-in-the-wool Albertan whose country music star continues to rise.
The Big Valley Jamboree is thrilled to announce more of the biggest names in country music as part of this year’s lineup, making Camrose, Alberta the premier destination for country music fans August Long Weekend (August 1-4, 2019).
Every year, BVJ starts the festival with the Thursday Night Kickoff Party in the Coors Banquet Saloon. Joining this year’s exceptional line up of Charlie Major, Brothers Osborne, The Prairie States, will be Petric, a Canadian country duo who’ve commanded big success, with 7 Million streams, 315K+ views on YouTube, multiple chart topping hit songs on Country radio, two top singles, and a shelf full of awards and nominations.
And if that weren’t enough, BVJ’s mainstage lineup keeps heating up, with country music legend Toby Keith (Oklahoma, USA), one of the modern era's most complete self-directed hit makers will be headlining the mainstage on Friday night. Keith, who is a legendary fan favourite and BVJ alum, is a much anticipated addition to an already stellar lineup of previously announced stars, including Brooks & Dunn (Nashville, Tennessee), Old Dominion (Nashville, Tennessee), Kane Brown (Chattanooga, Tennessee), Lindsay Ell, James Barker Band, Brett Kissel, and Billy Ray Cyrus (Flatwoods, Kentucky).
Other artists who’ll be lighting up the main stage include Aaron Goodvin, whose debut record Knock on Wood produced three top 10 singles; reigning CCMA Female Artist of the Year Meghan Patrick and her inspired parallel to Emmylou Harris, back when she was cutting records with Gram Parsons in the early ‘70s; Tebey, whose multi-genre output includes chart-topping country hits like “Somewhere in the Country”; Dan Davidson who is Alberta’s newest up and coming country sensation exploding onto the Canadian country scene in 2016 with the release of his second single “Found”; and Jade Eagleson, whose modern twist on country roots channels the foundational sounds of country royalty, like Johnny Cash and George Jones.
Rounding out this impressive lineup are the songs and giant talent of Ronnie Milsap (Robbinsville, Kentucky), and relative newcomers David James, Shawn Austin, Black Mountain Whiskey Rebellion, Don Amero, Kelsi Mayne and Tanya Ryan.
